LOWELL FRYMAN TO SPEAK AT TDWI IN ORLANDO
Metadata Guru Presents at TDWI Data Governance Summit
Denver, CO – October 18, 2007 –Lowell Fryman, Service Delivery Director for VIP will be a featured speaker at the TDWI (The Data Warehouse Institute) Data Governance Summit, October 29 – 30, 2007 in Orlando, Florida. Fryman, an internationally known metadata expert, will be presenting a one hour talk on “Business Metadata: The Foundation for Data Integration”.
Business metadata is a previously untapped resource that can be used to effectively kick start data governance projects. Starting your data governance program with the development of a business terms dictionary will provide a strong foundation for the initiative. VIP is recommending development of the business terms dictionaries as a new technique for implementing data integration and data governance projects that provide enterprise business clarity.

Business Metadata is also the subject of Fryman’s new book, titled “Business Metadata: Capturing Enterprise Knowledge”. The book was co-authored by Bill Inmon, Inmon Data Systems and Bonnie O’Neil, Project Performance Corporation, along with Fryman.
