VIP Women in Technology Scholarships (WITS) Program.

FOLSOM, Calif. – April 9, 2008 – Visionary Integration Professionals (VIP) announced today a new scholarship program for woman in technology.  The Woman in Technology Scholarship (WITS) program was established to support and encourage young women seeking a career in the computer science and technology field.  VIP intends to award fifteen scholarships of $1,000 each to students who are either accepted to or enrolled in an accredited four year college or university and planning a career in information technology. Scholarships are available wherever VIP has offices in the United States.  These locations include the metropolitan areas of Sacramento, Washington DC, Houston, New York City, Minneapolis-St. Paul, and Denver. 

“We are excited about this new program,” said President and CEO, Jonna Ward.  “The program is a natural extension of VIP’s story.  I wish that more scholarships like this had been available when I was in college and preparing for a career.”

Juaristi, Executive Vice President for VIP’s National Government Practice, who also serves as Chairman of VIP’s Community Services Committee.  “It is a wonderful balance of how a corporation gives back to the community, while supporting industry and advancing those who might be under-represented in a field.”

Applications for the program are due by May 15, 2008, and may be downloaded here.  Scholarship awards are expected in June 2008.
