Dynamic Analysis Grids

Analysis grids are reports that allow the user to manipulate data after the report has been run. Specifically, the user can:

  • Dynamically create new columns using existing columns. Calculated columns are then available in other analysis grid functions. Example: Training Start date – Training Completion date = total training days
  • Hide or move columns to control presentation
  • Sort one or more columns in ascending or descending order
  • Remove data rows with filters
  • Group data by any report column
  • Sum/aggregate data
  • Create a pie/bar/other graphical chart
  • Create cross tab views
  • Control number of records presented per page
  • Save the filter options and selected settings

For example, if a Business Manager wants to know which instructor is scheduled for the most training days in the quarter, an administrator can quickly manipulate the standard classroom report to extract that data—even present it graphically—with just a few clicks of the mouse and then save that layout.
