| PowerCenter Advanced Mapping Techniques for Developers - 4 day(s)
This newly updated class will teach students how to construct solid, consistent and fully restartable mappings. Students will understand more about the joiner, sorter, lookup and aggregator objects. In this class we cover advanced mapping techniques, error recovery and command line usage. We also introduce XML (data sourcing/targeting), Transaction control, real-time mapping architectures and web-services. Students are taught how and when to apply a joiner versus a DB join, to use a joiner instead of a lookup, when to sort in Informatica and when to sort in the DB. We also cover advanced aggregation techniques like pivoting your data. There is a section on error handling where we discuss error handling best practices, how to make your mapping fully restartable and a bit more fault tolerant. The fourth day contains command line – best practices and interfacing with the command line calls (regardless of Informatica versions), protecting your passwords and setting up execution scripts to perform tasks along with a workflow overview and best practices.
