Project: BI 7.0 Go-Live Check - Performance tuning
While engaged on a project at the client site, our consultant had concerns that the Client's Java environment was not set up correctly and felt it was not performing optimally. This was just before the production go-live for dashboard functionality the consultant had developed. He voiced his concerns to BI Project management who knew of another resource with proven abilities in Java performance tuning. The Client contracted with VIP to have the resource log into the Client's systems and assess their viability.
The consultant logged in remotely, examined the systems, wrote a 28 page review that included his observations, issues with the system, and made tuning recommendations. This work took approximately 2 weeks to complete. The majority of the work however was spent creating the deliverable. The Client was pleased we could provide that level of expertise on such short notice. The consultant’s recommendations were implemented, making the go-live a much smother process than if they not made the appropriate corrections.
