2010 Women in Technology Scholarship (WITS) Program: Now Accepting Applications
Folsom, CA; January, 2010- Visionary Integration Professionals is pleased to announce its third annual Women in Technology Scholarship (WITS) Program. The 2010 WITS Program offers multiple scholarship awards with values up to $2,500 per recipient. The scholarship supports women who are enrolled at, or are accepted into, either a two or four year U.S. college or university for the 2010 school year. In 2009, VIP granted nine WITS awards to well-qualified recipients.
To qualify for the scholarship, candidates must have a career path in information technology or a related field. They must complete an application and write an essay which defines a specific problem that they see in their community (local or statewide) related to information technology, and recommend a solution that is thoughtful and likely to make an impact on the problem.
While the core of the program will remain the same, VIP has made some changes for the 2010 WITS Program. VIP is fortunate to have expanded its footprint in the United States in 2009. Therefore, the decision was made to expand the scholarship to a national reach, instead of limiting submissions to a few select cities. There will also be a higher GPA requirement and consideration placed on student involvement in extra curricular activities.
