VIP Announces 4th Annual Women in Technology Scholarship (WITS) Program
Folsom, Calif. -December, 13 2010- Visionary Integration Professionals(VIP) is pleased to announce the fourth annual Women in Technology Scholarship (WITS) Program. The 2011 WITS Program offers multiple scholarship awards with values up to $2,500 per recipient. The scholarship supports promising women who are enrolled at, or are accepted into, either a two or four year U.S. college or university for the 2011 school year. In 2010, VIP granted eight WITS awards to well-qualified recipients.
To qualify for the scholarship, candidates must have a career path in information technology or a related field. They must complete an application and write an essay which defines a specific problem that they see in their community (local or statewide) related to information technology, and recommend a solution that is thoughtful and likely to make an impact on the problem. For this year’s scholarship, much like last year, additional consideration will go toward candidates’ GPA and level of involvement in community service and extra curricular activities.
