VIP Announces 5th Annual Women in Technology Scholarship (WITS) Program
Folsom, Calif. – October 20, 2011- Visionary Integration Professionals (VIP) is pleased to announce the fifth annual Women in Technology Scholarship (WITS) Program. The scholarship supports promising women who are enrolled at, or are accepted into, either a two or four year U.S. college or university for the 2012 school year. In 2011, VIP received a record-high number of applications and granted eight WITS awards to well-qualified recipients.
The 2012 WITS Program offers multiple scholarship awards with values up to $2,500 per recipient. To qualify, candidates must have a career path in information technology or a related field and meet the program requirements defined in the application. Submissions are evaluated based on candidate essays, which define and offer meaningful solutions to specific local or statewide information technology problems. Additionally, consideration will be given to academic performance, as well as the level of involvement and leadership in community service and extracurricular activities.

So far, nearly 40 scholarships have been awarded to promising women across the country. The program allows VIP to successfully support many qualified professional women while also investing in the future of the IT industry.
“It is such a pleasure to provide this opportunity to deserving women who are interested in our field,” said President and CEO, Jonna Ward, who initiated WITS in 2008. “I wish that more scholarships like this had been available when I was in college and preparing for a career.”
